It’s nice to see what is your most popular posts in your blog. I was looking for a plug-in or a widget for most viewed posts but i could not find any. I know there are many out there but not all of them are working for new WordPress v2.2. Some of them need to install extra plug-in which might not work for new WordPress. Beside i already had a plug-in installed that count blog posts view. So, i created my own sidebox for most viewed or most read posts. You can download the code from below.

The widget need to be manually installed. But do not worry. It’s very easy. It will take maximum 1-2 minutes. All you have to do is just add few lines to your /wp-includes/widgets.php file. Thats all. All the detailed instructions are mentioned inside the file. Before you install this add-on or feature to your blog, you need to have View Counter v1.02 by Michael O’Connell. It will add a counter to track the number of times a post is viewed. It’s also super easy to install. Just upload it and activate it. It will automatically install the necessary database field that need for our most viewed posts widget.
