Microsoft is coming out with a major project that might come to a very close competition with Apple iPhone. This project was named Microsoft Surface. The only key difference between iPhone and Microsoft Surface is the size (my personal opinion).

So, what is Microsoft Surface or Surface computing? Microsoft Surface is a computer that users can control with their finger tips from big screen. But this big screen is not a TV or monitor screen, it shapes more like a tea table (digital table). Thats how Microsoft wanted to market the product so that they can get large user market utilizing the easiness of it’s use. A big screen digital table where you can use your fingers, sounds easier than a razor thin device where you can hardly fit your finger tip.

Surface is a 30-inch display in a table-like form factor that’s easy for individuals or small groups to interact with in a way that feels familiar, just like in the real world. Surface can simultaneously recognize dozens and dozens of movements such as touch, gestures and will be able to recognize actual unique objects that have identification tags similar to bar codes. Surface will ship to partners with a portfolio of basic applications, including photos, music, virtual concierge and games, which can be customized to provide their customers with unique experiences.
