If you are still using your default WordPress search box and not using optimized Google Search feature in your blog, you are losing big money. I have seen many popular blogger who are doing this same mistake. I do not have any clue why they are sacrificing this big money making machine. Are they scared that Google is not crawling their site deep enough to show all relevant search results? Or they are thinking bloggers usually do not use search box to look for information?

It could be both. But if your site or blog is indexed in Google properly and deeply enough (if you have at least Google PageRank of 5, and you write unique content in your blog, Google will more likely crawl your blog or website 95-100%). Since most of those probloggers website has PR 5 or more, their blog is already indexed in Google properly to show relevant results if they use Google search box in their blog.

Secondly, yes, bloggers use feed most of the times to read blog post, but they use search box too. When you choose your blog or WordPress template this is one of the thing you should pay attention to, template’s search feature or search box. Not all of your blog visitors are familiar with your blog, you will still receive many new readers everyday. And when a new visitors come to a blog they will search for necessary information from your blog.

So far, i am happy with Google indexed pages for my blog. Therefore, as you can see, i put up my customized Google search box at the top right hand corner. It will not only give you extra Adsense revenue but also let you know about your visitors search query.
